DARK TRANQUILLITY: The Festival Season Is Over
August 23, 2007Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY have issued the following update:
"In true DARK TRANQUILLITY fashion, Bloodstock [Open Air in the U.K.] and Summer Breeze [in Germany] were ravaged last weekend, spelling an end to the festival season of 2007. This was probably our most active summer ever, and while our sweaty bodies are recovering from the mayhem, preparations for the upcoming tours are being made. We've raided the rehearsal room for leftover merchandise, so on the upcoming 'Scandinavian Fiction' tour we'll be offering some rare and out-of-print shirts as well as other goodies for those who are interested."
Fan-filmed video footage of DARK TRANQUILLITY's performance at this year's Brutal Assault festival, which took place August 9-11 at the Old Army Fortress Josefov in Jaromer, Czech Republic (Jaromer is situated 130 km east of Prague, 20km north from Hradec Kralove),has been posted at YouTube. DARK TRANQUILLITY has confirmed its participation in the Eastpak Antidote European tour alongside SOILWORK, CALIBAN and SONIC SYNDICATE.
The band's new album, "Fiction", was released in April via Century Media Records. The CD was mixed by the acclaimed Tue Madsen (HIMSA, THE HAUNTED) and "encompasses all of the elements on which the band built their career: thought-provoking lyrics, shredding guitar work, captivating melodies and sheer brutality," according to a press release.
